IRON NEST Firing Solution Calculator

Enter range and charge count to generate a community-formula estimate for barrel elevation. This planning tool does not claim to reproduce the game’s internal algorithm, and it does not replace the in-game range table or ballistic workflow.

Evidence status: Multiple independent current Steam guides report elevation = distance × 0.012 ÷ charges. The formula is highly consistent community evidence, not an official formula. Results outside the documented planning envelope are marked unverified.

Community estimate38.82°

AP · 2 charges

Formula: distance × 0.012 ÷ charges. Compare with the current in-game value before firing.

How to use the result

  1. Solve the target location on the map and triangulation page.
  2. Measure range and bearing from the current IRON NEST position to the target.
  3. Enter range and the intended number of charges.
  4. Treat the displayed elevation as a planning estimate.
  5. Compare it with the current in-game calculator or range card.
  6. Load the chosen shell and exactly the charge count used in the calculation.
  7. Set bearing and elevation, then perform a final target-card check.

Bearing is displayed back to you as a transcription check; it is not part of the simplified elevation formula. Shell and target category are also recorded so you do not carry a result into the wrong loading setup.

Formula and examples

The current community relationship is:

Elevation in degrees = range in metres × 0.012 ÷ number of charges

Two published examples are 6,470 metres with two charges, producing 38.82 degrees, and 12,000 metres with three charges, producing 48 degrees. Community sources also describe a 60-degree maximum and approximately 5 km of maximum range per charge, but the exact limits and every shell interaction have not been verified by this site.

The tool therefore refuses zero charges, negative range, and values beyond its cautious input limits. A mathematically valid result can still be wrong for a specific shell, game mode, terrain condition, or later build.

What the calculator does not know

The official description confirms that range and propellant charge are used to determine elevation. It does not publish the internal formula. We have not independently verified whether shell type, target type, height difference, drag, dispersion, unlock state, or difficulty modifies the relationship.

Do not use this result as an “official” table. If the in-game calculator disagrees, use the game value and report the mismatch with the build, shell, range, charge count, and observed elevation.
